Our new addition is an article titled "Shorlands, Humbers, Fire and Trakmark". This article is not just for Shorland owners but also Humber Pig owners as well! It includes a description of the Trakmark lining (used in many post-war British AFVs) that has interesting properties, which are really put to the test.

April 12th

We added an entry at our "Links" page to an interesting article showing GNR Shorlands sent to us by Portuguese enthusiast Miguel Machado.  The article is via the website "Operacional" and is titled  "Shorland Da Guarda Nacional Republicana & Comando Bravia".

We've been a bit quiet on here, not through lack of interest in Shorlands but keeping the Shorland running after nearly 50 years it is an on-going process! But along the way trying to make a few improvements, starting with adding my article "Shorland Modifications & Tips (Part 1)".  Although these modifications are aimed a Shorland owners, we hope other readers may find points of interest.

April 11, 2013

Today, we've put up another vehicle manual in the form of the Shorland Mark 3 APC "Military" Parts Book (Transmission).  This is the first in a series of extracts covering the MOD contracts  for two batches of Shorlands supplied to the Ulster Defence Regiment.

Álvaro Lemos is back with more photos and videos of his soon to be released 1/35 resin GNR Shorland Mark 3 APC model kit.

Courtesy of Álvaro Lemos, we've added photos of a Portuguese GNR Shorland Mark 3 APC.

As many of our visitors are hobby modellers, we've decided to create a dedicated section called "Modelling the Shorland" and we've started adding content.  More will be added in the VERY near future, so stay tuned.

First of all, Happy New Years to all our visitors.  We hope you have a safe and prosperous 2012.

Second, we've updated a few pages with new or more complete information and photos.  Those pages are the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), Mark 1 APC, Mark 2 APC and Mark 3 APC pages.

We have another addition to the new "Shorland Mysteries & Curiosities" section.

Today, we're pleased to announce a fair number of updates to the site.  First, we've added a new section called "Shorland Mysteries & Curiosities", which is located in the "Other References" sub-section of the site.  Mysteries & Curiosities covers Shorland based vehicles that are different or unique.

June 20th Our latest addition is the posting of a number of additional photos of the Series 5 APC and S55 APV.
May 11th It's been awhile, but we've finally put up another batch of photos, including some of the restoration of Clive's APV Prototype (HOI 383).
February 23rd We're on a roll this month.  More additions are up including an article about and photos of, Clive's Mark 1 APC (3547 PZ) and some added info to the History Section.
February 7, 2010 We've added the "Civilan" Parts Book for the Mark 3 Armoured Patrol Car and the Operator's Manual for the Mark 4 SB401 Armoured Patrol Car.  To find them, go to the "Vehicle Manuals/Handbooks"  section, which is accessed from the Other References Index.

Also, we've added a collection of restoration photos of Mk 1 APC (27BT68).

September 7, 2009 We are happy to announce the official relaunch of The Shorland Site.   Please take a few minutes to browse and check things out.  We plan on starting to add "flesh" to the "skeleton" structure of the site very soon. We hope you enjoy the site and are glad to see it is back.
